Services for Roxie Sloan, 81, Palestine, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Tucker community, with Bishop James L Berry officiating. Burial will be in Memorial City Cemetery under direction of Davis Funeral Home, Palestine. Ms. Sloan died Feb. 2. She was born July 8, 1923, in Anderson County. She grew up in Anderson County and was a member of New Birth Church of the Living God in Jacksonville.  She was a retired dispatcher for Ideal Cab Co. Survivors include her nieces, Barbara McClelland, Jo Ann Brookings, Goldie Henry, all of Palestine, Juanita Henry, Tyler, and other nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Charles Hamlett, Reginald McClelland, Geyrone Middlebrook, Wayne Wickware, Ricky Dorsey and Jacolby. Honorary pallbearers are men of New Birth COTLG.
